Training Program Supervisor

Supervises a team of training professionals and collaborates with organizational leaders to develop a comprehensive training program that aligns with the strategic goals of the organization. Designs and conducts training.

Major Responsibilities & Duties:

Supervises a team of training professionals; develops and implements strategic internal training plans.

• Collaborates with Youth Care, Hospital, and Support Services leaders and educators; identifies and brings key players and concerned parties together to make training decisions and resolve issues.
• Develops a team of training professionals by transferring skills, providing developmental opportunities, coaching, and providing encouragement to take risks and try new things.
• Adheres to a training budget and ensures efficient operation of training programs within budgetary limits.
• Develops, sets, monitors, and adapts training goals that are consistent with the goals of Boys Town.
• Maintains current knowledge of Boys Town, Healthcare and national trends to serve as a visionary for Boys Town mission and strategic goals of department (i.e., reading professional journals and publications, attending professional meetings, etc.).
• Coordinates and integrates activities of multiple training programs and evaluates the processes and outcomes of training services.
• Reviews and evaluates program curricula.
• Negotiates responsibilities between and among training programs.
• Reaches out to customers to identify and consult to learning needs.
• Designs and develops training and leads staff through design and development process; evaluates the quality and progress of service delivery to customers via regular meetings, observations, review of data/trends, and written documentation.
• Delivers training via classroom, including physical demonstrations and practices of safety holds for crisis management and intervention, and distance learning methodologies.
• Partners to evaluate success of learning and consultation initiatives; discusses and problem-solves training issues as they arise.
• Drives a Boys Town vehicle to conduct Behind the Wheel Training to employees.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Understanding of childcare and/or health care compliance (i.e. COA, Joint Commission) requirements and protocols.
• Understanding of childcaring or health care initiatives and issues as well as familiarity with juvenile justice, social welfare or clinical education.
• Demonstrated experience designing curricula (outlines and/or content) and delivering training.
• Demonstrated capabilities to select, motivate, evaluate, and develop personnel. Ability to assess talent, manage people, and motivate others.
• Ability to develop, conceptualize, organize, and coordinate programs; ability to evaluate the processes and outcomes of programs and services to facilitate efficient operations.
• Experience with innovative learning methods and solutions that result in a positive and effective learning environment.
• Proven ability to work cooperatively with high level professional staff and to work effectively with a diverse public.
• Ability to effectively communicate and present information to all levels of the organization and possess excellent writing skills.
• Strong relationship building and collaboration skills, and presentation and public speaking skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Project, and Access).
• Familiarity with EPIC or other electronic health records systems.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience including training or consultation is required.
• Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record and pass an annual Motor Vehicle Registration (MVR) check required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Social Work, Education, Psychology, Nursing or related field degree preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with the Boys Town teaching model and/or teaching in a health care setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with EPIC or other electronic health records systems is preferred.
• Certification in the Boys Town consultation process highly preferred.

Physical Requirements, Equipment Usage, Work Environment:

• Position is relatively sedentary in a normal office administrative environment involving minimum exposure to physical risks. Will use office equipment such as a computer/laptop, monitor, keyboard, and a general workstation set-up.
