Position Overview The Manager in Training (MIT) works with the store manager and store teams to achieve sales goals, drive a customer‑focused environment, manage talent and performance, and execute visual standards. The MIT participates in a training program to prepare them for a store manager position within 3–6 months. The MIT is hired with the expectation that they are relocatable to a specific new store or a group of new and existing stores and must actively participate in all training modules while fulfilling a managerial role on the team. Key Responsibilities Customer Obsession: Drive and achieve a customer‑focused store environment; create and demonstrate fashion‑focused store environments by delivering product knowledge and fashion expertise to customers. Drive Sales: Manage sales goals by analyzing store performance, adjust plans and priorities as necessary; manage payroll hours to support business needs and sustain profitability; assess visual needs and direct implementation of promotional changes; prepare schedules based on business needs; direct team to use sales‑driving programs. Talent Management: Make quality hiring decisions and nurture talent; provide direct, actionable feedback; develop successors and talent pools for all store positions; coach associates; create an environment that allows others to reach their full potential. Operational Execution: Maintain an operationally sound store; minimize inventory loss; ensure execution of company direction (POS, Visual, HR, Operations); enforce company policies and procedures. Requirements High School Degree or GED required; a business or retail merchandising degree preferred. Supervisory experience required in a customer‑focused environment; experience in the fashion industry preferred. Proven track record of achieving and setting goals and executing company direction. Experience in hiring, promoting, and motivating talent. Proven ability to lead by example, make sound decisions, and demonstrate professionalism. Excellent interpersonal and relationship‑building skills. Diligence and the ability to persevere in the face of resistance or setbacks. Must commit to a specific store location or a group of new and existing stores. Unique / Physical Requirements Work varied hours and days as business dictates. Able to reach, push, pull, stand, squat, and bend for up to 8 hours or longer as necessary. Able to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the store. Able to operate a computerized register system. Able to move or handle merchandise throughout the store weighing up to 50 pounds.
