Job Description

This role supports a busy warehouse environment by accurately selecting and preparing customer orders for shipment. You will use a headset-based voice system and ride a walkie rider to pick products, build pallets, and move them to designated bay areas. The position requires consistent attention to detail, safe equipment operation, and the ability to meet daily productivity targets while lifting 25–50 pounds throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

• Use a headset and voice-directed system to listen to and follow order instructions accurately.
• Operate a walkie rider and pallet jack safely to navigate the warehouse and transport products.
• Select and pick products according to order requirements, maintaining correct product numbers and quantities.
• Build and stage finished pallets in designated bay areas for shipping.
• Maintain daily picking goals by achieving the required number of cases picked per day.
• Use RF scanners to scan products, verify inventory, and ensure accurate order fulfillment.
• Support shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading products as needed.
• Handle materials safely and efficiently to minimize damage and maintain product quality.
• Operate forklifts and tow motors as required for moving pallets and inventory within the warehouse.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating equipment and working in the warehouse.
• Work scheduled shifts consistently, including staying until 1–2 AM when business needs require it.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to maintain an organized, efficient, and clean work area.

Essential Skills

• Experience with order picking and order selection in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Proficiency using RF scanners for picking, inventory, and shipping and receiving tasks.
• Ability to operate a walkie rider, pallet jack, and other material handling equipment safely.
• Forklift and tow motor experience, including sit-down forklift operation.
• Experience in shipping and receiving, including handling pallets and staging orders.
• Ability to lift and move 25–50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
• Comfort working Monday through Friday from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM for order picking, with flexibility to work until 1–2 AM as needed.
• Comfort working Sunday through Thursday from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM for tow motor operations, with flexibility to work until 1–2 AM as needed.
• Strong attention to detail to maintain correct product numbers and accurate order fulfillment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production and case-picking targets.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience as an order picker, order selector, or material handler.
• Experience working in a warehouse, distribution, or shipping and receiving environment.
• Familiarity with inventory processes and basic stock control.
• Comfort operating sit-down forklifts and other powered industrial trucks.
• Ability to adapt to changing workload and increasing business volume.
• Strong work ethic and reliability, with a commitment to safety and teamwork.

Work Environment

This position is based in a warehouse facility that is climate controlled in certain areas, providing a more comfortable working temperature for much of the shift. The shipping and receiving areas may have doors open, creating a more variable environment in those zones. You will work around powered industrial equipment such as forklifts, tow motors, walkie riders, and pallet jacks, and will use RF scanners and headset systems throughout the day. Shifts for order picking run Monday through Friday from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and shifts for tow motor operations run Sunday through Thursday from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with the expectation that you may work until 1–2 AM when required by production demands. The environment is fast-paced and production-driven, with clear performance expectations and an emphasis on safety and proper material handling.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of La Vergne, TN.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $27.00/hr.
