JOB TITLE:Athletic Coach REPORTS TO: Athletic Director /Principal Yupiit School District LOCATION: Akiak .

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

__ To apply candidate must have or be willing to obtain Alaska Coaching Certification and verification of approved concussion awareness course. An experienced coach who will develop a total high school program. Must be able to work as a team leader, and coordinate program with the building wide academic and co-curricular programs. Should have experience in coaching and have current CPR and first aid certification.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Must to have completed the ASAA Coaches Certification and Concussion in SportsProgram. Be able to select and Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved Be able to plan and schedule a regular program of practice in season Be able to work closely with the athletic director in scheduling interscholastic contests. Be able to maintain and recommend purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms. Be able to maintain the necessary forms for physicals, eligibility, team rosters, and records as designated by the activity director Be able to oversee the safety conditions of the facility in which assigned sport is conducted at all times when students are present. Be able to establish performance criteria for participation in inter-scholastic competition in his/her sport. Be able to enforce discipline and sportsmanship-like behavior at all times, and establish and oversee penalties for breach of such standards by individual al students Be able to assume the responsibility for being with team members at all practice sessions and for cleaning practice areas at the end of Be able to assume the responsibility for maintaining and submitting an accurate record, which includes dates and lengths ofeach practice. Must report all injuries, which occur during practice s and competition to the Site Administrator. Injuries must be reported on the District Accident Forms. Assure when hosting an event that: Schools are sent the needed information on time. Teams arriving are met as they step off the plane. Arrangements have been made for dressing, showers, etc. First-Aid equipment is madeavailable. Security of personal items has been provided Visiting schools are given the 'Red Carpet' Be able to take recommendations to the Site Administrator for player awards. Maintain personal/professional conduct commensurate with the ideals ofthe activity program Be familiar with all pertinent rules, regulations,policies, and procedures of ASAA, Region I, YSD, and local school. Any other duties, pertinent to the sport, as assigned by the Site Administrator or Activities Be able to pass a background Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or equivalent plus at least two years demonstrated successful experience in general office work. Business college or equivalent training may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to develop effective working relationships with the principal, staff, students, parents, and community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies. Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment.
