Job Details

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Ability to work independently; or as part of a team; has good reasoning abilities and demonstrates sound judgment • Demonstrate application of principles, methods, techniques, tools and equipment used in the installation, maintenance and repair of industrial/mechanical equipment and machinery • Read and interpret plans, specifications, manuals and blueprints
• Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects
• Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to adapt, troubleshoot, research solutions and make recommendations to improve work efficiencies

• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers and other components.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, using testing devices to ensure compatibility and safety of the system
• Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment
• Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine
• Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts
• Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery
• Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as scales or programmable controllers
• Sets up and operates machine tools such as band saw, grinder, drill, and router machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools
• Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts
• Must observe all safety rules and wear all safety equipment provided or required by the company
• Writes work orders and orders parts if necessary
• Must be able to communicate with "Tech Support" as needed
• Must be familiar with the following equipment: Tig welder, welder, plasma cutter, grinder, band saw, drill, press, cutting torch, electric meter, (amprobe), air tools, hammer, jack hammer, gear pullers
