JOB SUMMARY:Assist in the day-to-day functions of the Weld Department, including but not limited to the welding and prepping of carbon steel valve bodies.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:- Operation of various equipment using the stick welding processes.- Read Engineering prints/drawings/documents.- Work individually and as part of a team.- Identify and verify parts and materials.- Verify accuracy of paperwork as required.- Periodically inspect tools and equipment for accuracy/deficiencies.- Ensure job orders remain with parts at all times.- Sandblast and clean various components while standing for long periods of time.- Observe and follow all Safety practices dictated by the Weld Department Supervisor and company policy.- Weld carbon steel valve bodies and bonnets.- Work and assist in other departments as required and perform other duties as assigned.SKILLS REQUIRED:- Ability to operates various equipment using the stick welding processes.- Ability to read Engineering prints/drawings.- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.- Excellent organization skills.- Ability to lift 51lbs or more on occasion with a lifting partner.- Must be punctual and reliable.- Ability to be certified on SMAW101 Weld Test. #J-18808-Ljbffr Mercer Valve Company, Inc.
