This is an opportunity to solve challenging engineering problems involving offline-first architecture, Bluetooth device integration, synchronization, scalability, and performance while helping shape the long-term technical direction of the product.This is more than building mobile screens. You'll solve complex engineering challenges that directly impact customers around the world.In this role, you'll:Modernize a large-scale production React Native applicationDesign reliable offline-first mobile experiencesBuild Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) integrations with connected devicesImprove application performance, synchronization, and reliabilityInfluence architecture and engineering standardsMentor other developers and provide technical leadershipWork directly with customers to understand real-world workflows and build solutions that make a differenceWhat you'll do:Design, develop, test, and maintain React Native application featuresBuild reliable mobile experiences that perform seamlessly online and offlineDesign and improve local data storage and synchronization capabilitiesContribute to application architecture, scalability, and long-term technical directionCollaborate with Product, UX, QA, and Engineering to deliver high-quality solutionsParticipate in code reviews and mentor junior developersContinuously improve engineering practices, code quality, and team effectivenessOccasionally visit customer farms to better understand user workflows and identify opportunities for innovationWhat we're looking for:6+ years of professional mobile application development experience, including strong expertise with React NativeExperience designing and building scalable, maintainable mobile applications using sound software architecture and engineering best practicesExperience developing applications that support intermittent or offline connectivity, including local databases and mobile synchronization strategiesExperience integrating Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) or similar hardware/device communication into mobile applicationsNative Android or iOS development experience is a plusExperience working in Agile software development environments using Jira, Gitflow, and modern CI/CD practicesDemonstrated ability to mentor developers, lead technical initiatives, and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teamsInterest in learning about agriculture and leveraging technology to improve farm operationsWillingness to travel to customer locations within the U.S. up to 15% as neededWhy VAS?At VAS, you'll join a collaborative engineering team with the agility of a small software company and the stability and global reach of URUS.
