Customer Care Specialist

Job Description Overview Join Amcor, a global leader in responsible consumer packaging. Our mission is to transform the packaging industry and improve lives worldwide. Key Accountabilities Order Entry – Ensure accurate and timely encoding of customer orders, evaluate quantity and delivery dates, and confirm alignment on lead time. Order Acknowledgement – Communicate order confirmation to customers within 24 hours, ensuring accuracy and realism. Order Status Communication – Generate open‑order reports, confirm ship dates with plant and shipping teams, and notify customers at least one week before shipping. Demand Management & Control – Collaborate with Plant Schedulers to translate demand signals into cost‑effective shop‑floor schedules. Process Improvement – Identify opportunities to simplify routine tasks and free time for customer communication. Service Risk Mitigation – Identify, report, and seek resolution for service risks and issues through appropriate channels. Additional responsibilities (≤30% of workload) – New item requests, quote requests, customer incident tracking, sample requests, specifications, drawings, and regulatory documents. Performance Measures Past‑Due Orders Trend Manual vs Automatic Order Entry Ratio Order Acknowledgment Turnaround Time Load Building Turnaround Time On‑Time and In‑Full Delivery Rate Order Entry Accuracy Customer Scorecard and Performance Feedback Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred in Management, Sales, Marketing, or Supply Chain. 3–5 years of customer service experience in a fast‑moving consumer or manufacturing environment. Proficiency in data gathering, analysis, and interpretation. Experience with JDE, Cognos, Tableau a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and related Office applications. Excellent written and verbal communication with both internal and external stakeholders. Competencies Strong communication skills (verbal and written). Independent and self‑starting with limited supervision. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Deep understanding of the impact of their role on total business costs. Excellent attention to detail. Advanced Excel and IT systems knowledge. Ability to manipulate complex data and provide meaningful insights. Benefits Medical, dental, and vision plans.
