Project Overview:

Louisiana LNG is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed-refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre-treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four Chart heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000m3 full-containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will monitor and organize subcontractor planning, safety, quality, and technical activities on a complex project with multiple stakeholders’ involvement, through the coordination and instruction of subcontractor’s management staff. Your field supervision will help ensure operations are planned to coincide with overall established schedules and that work methods are planned and executed safely. #LI-TH1

Major Responsibilities:

• Monitors and organizes subcontractor activities, through coordination and instruction of subcontractor’s management staff within the area of responsibility.
• Role supports on mid-size projects of medium to high complexity with multiple stakeholders’ involvement.

Planning

• Monitors subcontractor construction schedules, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements.
• Reviews subcontractor construction methods, schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements.
• Coordinates the construction operations impact on external interfaces to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules.

Safety / Quality

• Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements\\
• Enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management.

Technical

• Supports Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents
• Coordinates engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.
• Coordinates with Design on constructability issues.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Knowledge and experience of construction methods of full containment LNG tank construction which includes knowledge of carbon steel, aluminum, and 9% Ni plate erection and welding, roof construction, air raise and hydrotesting. Furthermore, must have ability to interface with the concrete team working the outside of the LNG Tank.
• Working in a field construction environment understanding specifications, vendor procedures, instructions & codes with working knowledge of API-650, API-620, API-625, ASME Section VIII, AWWA, and FERC requirements.
• Knowledge of welding processes such as SMAW, FCAW, SAW and the use of Automatic Girth Welders, Down Flat Tractors, and automated isolation machines. Knowledge of large crawler cranes, tower cranes, SPMTs and heavy lift programs
• Technical knowledge of tank building equipment and tools.
• Knowledge of requirements for cryogenic insulation including foam block, deck blanket, and perlite.
• Knowledge of requirements for Lock Out Tag Out.
• Heavy industrial direct hire construction experience commensurate with the type of work to be undertaken.
• Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
• Ability to work with multi-national employees and across different languages.
• Ability to train less experienced team members and provide mentorship to others.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving ability.

Additional Information: 

• Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces.
• Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).
