Customer Service Specialist

Job Summary The Customer Service Specialist is responsible for handling questions and/or concerns regarding billing or payment issues for both hospital and physician services presented by our customers on the phone or in person. The specialist should possess basic knowledge of policy and processes utilized by the Combined Billing Office and use system programs and edits to efficiently assist customers without transferring or referring to others. The specialist will be responsible for scanning financial documentation received on accounts to the electronic record and proper indexing of those records. The specialist will also be responsible for accurate and timely distribution of mail to appropriate office staff. Additionally, the specialist will handle daily reconciliation with Early Out and Bad Debt vendors on files received or transmitted, troubleshoot and mitigate corrective actions needed to rectify known issues, and maintain work queues associated with the position. The specialist will maintain restricted or confidential information from many sources within the Medical Center and perform any other duties as assigned by the Assistant Manager, Manager, or Director.
