HHM Talent is assisting a client search for a Senior Manager in South Pittsburg, TN.This position has a hybrid schedule: 3-4 days in office a week. Position OverviewThe Senior Accountant will support the company's day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting processes. This position will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger, preparing journal entries and account reconciliations, assisting with month-end close, and reviewing the work completed by temporary accounting staff.This is an individual contributor position and will not have direct reports. The Senior Accountant will, however, provide guidance to temporary accountants and review their work for accuracy and completeness.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processesPrepare and review journal entriesComplete balance sheet and general ledger account reconciliationsMaintain accurate and complete general ledger recordsAssist with the preparation of financial statements and internal financial reportsResearch and resolve accounting discrepanciesReview the work completed by temporary accounting staffProvide direction and answer accounting-related questions from temporary staffEnsure transactions are properly recorded and supported by appropriate documentationAssist with audit preparation and respond to audit requestsSupport accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounting functions as neededIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controlsAssist with additional accounting projects and responsibilities as assignedQualificationsBachelor 's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred4+ years of progressive accounting experienceStrong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end closeExperience preparing journal entries and account reconciliationsExperience reviewing the work of other accounting professionals preferredStrong knowledge of GAAPProficiency in Microsoft ExcelExperience working with accounting or ERP systemsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently while collaborating with the broader accounting teamCompensation$80,000–$90,000 annually, based on experienceBenefitsBlue Cross Blue Shield medical insurance with a high-deductible health planHealth Savings AccountGoodRx prescription savings programDental insuranceVision insuranceBasic and voluntary life insuranceDisability insurance401(k) plan with a 4% company match after 30 daysThree weeks of vacation
