UTILITIES MASTER MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST I (CLASS CODE 3408)

Job Summary This is a master level skilled maintenance position at the Board. An individual performs one or more skilled construction, maintenance and repair tasks of the Sewerage and Water Board's plant equipment and plant facilities areas. The role requires a broad knowledge of construction, equipment, and maintenance and repair techniques, with assignments using skills in one or more of the trades Electrical, Welding, Machinist, Control Instrument Technician, and/or Diesel Mechanics. A Utilities Master Maintenance Specialist originates projects, obtains permits for construction and installations, and oversees the work of apprentices and related work as required. Key Responsibilities Perform skilled construction, maintenance, and repair tasks on plant equipment and facilities. Originate and manage projects, including obtaining necessary permits and overseeing construction and installation work. Supervise apprentices and coordinate related maintenance activities. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. A valid driver’s license. Two (2) years of full‑time journeyman‑level experience as an electrician, machinist, welder, or stationary diesel mechanic. Trade Licenses and Experience Electrician : Class A, C or D electrical license. Machinist : Journeyman‑level machinist experience with ability to operate a lathe. Welder : Journeyman‑level welding experience including at least six months of pipe welding. Diesel Mechanic : Journeyman‑level stationary diesel engine repair and maintenance experience.
