Sonographer

Position Summary Under the direct supervision of a registered sonographer, performs diagnostic sonographic examinations utilizing ultrasonic equipment to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Responsibilities Schedules and coordinates tests, records test results, and prepares and maintains operational logs. Calibrates and maintains equipment and orders supplies when needed. Requires a certain degree of creativity and latitude. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. Performs other related duties as assigned. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field. Ensures regular and predictable attendance, a core function of the job. Competent to meet age‑specific needs of the unit assigned. Requirements and Minimum Qualifications Actively enrolled student or recent graduate of an ultrasound program required; must obtain RDMS credential within 90 days of hire. BLS required. Working Conditions Must be able to lift or move up to 35 lbs. Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position. Typical equipment used in a clinical job.
