Our Strategic Procurement Specialist will lead specific commodities based on your expertise in mechanical, electrical components, or indirect spend. Responsibilities will include sourcing strategic of components while interfacing with inter-company departments to drive for the lowest landed cost with the highest quality. You will work cross-functionally to ensure we have the right suppliers, materials, and cost structures in place to support our growth and innovation.

Success in the Role: What are performance outcomes over the first 6–12 months you will work toward completing? 

In the first 30 days, you will: 

• Develop a strong understanding of Evolv’s procurement processes, systems, and key stakeholders. 

• Learn the technical and commercial requirements for components or services tied to current and future generation products. 

• Review existing supplier contracts and spend data to identify top suppliers and areas of opportunity. 

• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to align procurement strategies with product development and production needs. 

Within 3 months, you will: 

• Conduct a comprehensive supplier spend analysis and prioritize supplier management strategies. 

• Begin developing a strategic sourcing framework aligned with company goals and scalability. 

• Initiate refinement of master purchase agreements for top suppliers, covering at least 50% of total spend. 

• Establish baseline procurement metrics and reporting tools to monitor supplier performance, cost savings, and risk mitigation. 

By the end of the first year, you will: 

• Finalize and implement strategic sourcing framework across key commodities. 

• Successfully renegotiate master purchase agreements covering at least 75% of spend with best-in-class terms. 

• Deliver at least 5-10% year-over-year cost savings through supplier negotiations and market analysis. 

• Support new product introductions with timely sourcing and supplier alignment. 

• Provide regular leadership updates with clear KPIs and progress reports. 

• Contribute to the re-engineering of procurement infrastructure to support rapid growth and innovation.

As one of Evolv’s Strategic Procurement Specialist, you will have the opportunity to define and re-engineer our strategic supplier base. This role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring a balance of long-term planning and day-to-day execution.

Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Management: 

• Develop a strong understanding of Evolv’s procurement processes, systems, and key stakeholders. 

• Learn the technical and commercial requirements for components or services tied to current and future generation products. 

• Review existing supplier contracts and spend data to identify top suppliers and areas of opportunity. 

• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to align procurement strategies with product development and production needs. 

Cost Optimization and Financial Acumen 

• Perform total landed cost analysis to guide supplier selection and negotiations. 

• Deliver 5–10% year-over-year cost savings through strategic sourcing and market intelligence. 

• Build cost models to support budgeting and forecasting for procurement activities. 

• Monitor commodity price trends and proactively adjust sourcing strategies to mitigate risk. 

Contract Negotiation and Compliance 

• Negotiate master purchase agreements with favorable terms for pricing, lead time, and liability. 

• Ensure supplier contracts comply with regulatory and internal policy requirements. 

• Maintain contract lifecycle documentation and renewal schedules. 

• Collaborate with Legal and Finance to manage supplier risk and enforce contract terms. 

Data Driven Decision Making  

• Build and maintain dashboards to track supplier performance, cost savings, and risk metrics. 

• Use spend analysis tools to identify sourcing opportunities and optimize supplier mix. 

• Leverage ERP and procurement systems to drive data accuracy and reporting efficiency. 

• Present insights and recommendations to leadership using clear, actionable data. 

Agility and Innovation 

• Adapt sourcing strategies to support rapid product development and market shifts. 

• Contribute to procurement infrastructure redesign to enable scalability and automation. 

• Pilot new tools and technologies to improve sourcing efficiency and supplier engagement. 

• Embrace a continuous improvement mindset to refine processes and drive innovation.

The Strategic Procurement Specialist will report to Evolv’s Director of Procurement. The initial focus will be on cost reduction, building a robust supplier base and re-engineering the procurement infrastructure to support rapid growth and innovation. Where is the role located? 

The location of this role is Waltham, MA, where the majority of the Engineering, Manufacturing, and Field and Tech Support teams are based. This role has expectations of being in the office at least 4 days per week. 

Compensation and Transparency Statement 

The base salary range for this full-time position is $73,000- $117,000. In addition to base salary, this role offers a competitive target bonus, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package. This range reflects our commitment to pay transparency and equity, in alignment with applicable state laws. Our compensation ranges are determined based on factors such as role, level, location, market benchmarks, and internal equity. The posted range represents the good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this role across U.S. locations. Actual compensation within the range will be based on the candidate’s skills, experience, education, and geographic location.
