Job Title: Fiber Technician

Job Description

This role supports underground fiber installations as part of a small field crew, focusing on outside plant (OSP) work between two large data centers. You will assist experienced underground workers with fiber installation and fiber jetting equipment, perform general labor, and help maintain a safe, clean, and efficient job site. The position involves significant physical activity, frequent overtime, and the opportunity to develop more advanced technical skills in fiber installation and splicing.

Responsibilities

• Assist a team of 3–4 technicians with underground fiber installations for outside plant (OSP) projects.
• Support underground workers who are installing fiber and operating fiber jetting equipment.
• Install fiber between two major data center locations in accordance with project plans and safety standards.
• Monitor gas meters and other safety-related equipment to help maintain a safe work environment.
• Gather tools, materials, and supplies needed for daily tasks and ensure they are available at the job site.
• Move equipment and materials around the site, including loading and unloading as needed.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of debris to support safety and efficiency.
• Perform general labor tasks, including heavy lifting and manual handling of materials and equipment.
• Follow all applicable construction and safety procedures, including OSHA guidelines.
• Collaborate closely with team members, communicate effectively, and support a positive, team-oriented environment.
• Maintain consistent attendance, arrive on time, and be prepared to work extended hours and overtime when required.

Essential Skills

• Commercial construction experience, particularly in field or job site environments.
• Ability to perform general labor tasks, including heavy lifting and physically demanding work.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• Must pass MVR check

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Pataskala, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
