HR Generalist

Location: Peoria, IL Job Type: Full-Time Reports To: CEO

Position Summary: The HR Generalist will be responsible for recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, policy implementation, compliance, and HR record management. This role serves as a key resource for employees and managers and helps ensure a positive and productive workplace environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Recruitment & Onboarding: Coordinate recruiting activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and hiring. Manage onboarding and new employee orientation processes. Maintain applicant tracking and hiring records.
• Employee Relations: Respond to employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and employment matters. Assist in resolving employee concerns and workplace issues. Support employee engagement and retention initiatives.
• Benefits & Compensation: Administer employee benefits programs and enrollments. Assist employees with benefit-related inquiries. Support compensation and payroll-related processes.
• HR Administration: Maintain accurate personnel files and HRIS records. Prepare employment-related documentation, including offer letters and status changes. Track employee training, certifications, and compliance requirements.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Support workplace safety and workers' compensation programs. Assist with HR audits and reporting.
• Training & Development: Coordinate employee training programs. Support performance review processes. Assist managers with employee development initiatives.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2-5 years of human resources experience.
• Knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Preferred

• Experience using Paycor
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification.
• Experience with benefits administration and employee relations.
• Experience in manufacturing, agriculture, or professional services environments.
