Procurement ManagerNew York, New York, United StatesJob Title: Procurement ManagerReports To: The Procurement Manager will report to the Director of Procurement, Head of Procurement, Vice President, or equivalent leadership.Job Overview:The Procurement Manager is responsible for leading strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier relationship management, contract negotiations, and procurement operations to support SPS business objectives and client requirements. This role partners closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure procurement activities deliver value, cost savings, operational efficiency, and compliance with company policies and contractual obligations.The Procurement Manager will oversee procurement processes across assigned categories including indirect goods and services such as facilities, IT, professional services, office operations, HR services, and business support functions. This role serves as a trusted advisor to leadership and operational teams while driving supplier performance, process improvements, and procurement best practices.Overall, this position continuously offers the highest level of service to all clients, vendors, and SPS employees while maintaining a professional image of the company by providing prompt, courteous, and efficient service.Duties and Responsibilities:Strategic sourcing & commercial delivery:Lead end-to-end sourcing activities (RFI/RFP/RFQ) across assigned categoriesDeliver measurable cost savings and value (cost avoidance, demand management, contract optimization)Support implementation of category strategies defined at regional/global levelCategory ownership (execution-focused):Take ownership of selected indirect categories (e.g. IT, professional services, BPO, facilities, HR services)Maintain category plans aligned with broader procurement strategyMonitor supplier markets and identify commercial opportunitiesSupplier & contract management:Manage key supplier relationships and performance (KPIs, SLAs)Lead commercial negotiations and contract renewalsMitigate supplier risk and ensure compliance with internal policiesStakeholder engagement:Partner with business stakeholders (Finance, Operations, IT, HR, etc.)Challenge demand and specifications where appropriateAct as a trusted advisor on procurement and commercial mattersProcess & governance:Ensure procurement activities follow internal policies and best practicesSupport continuous improvement of procurement processes and toolsContribute to reporting on savings, pipeline, and supplier performanceCompetencies:Strong verbal and written communication skills.Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Excellent customer service and stakeholder management skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.Strong organizational and time management skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze procurement and financial data.Ability to influence stakeholders and drive results in a fast-paced environment.Knowledge of procurement systems, sourcing tools, and contract management processes.Qualifications and Education Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Operations Management, Procurement, or related field required.Minimum of 5–7 years of procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or vendor management experience required.Experience managing indirect procurement categories within a corporate, professional services, outsourcing, or enterprise environment preferred.Proven track record of negotiating contracts and delivering measurable cost savings.Experience managing supplier relationships and vendor performance programs.Strong understanding of procurement methodologies, sourcing strategies, and contract structures.Experience working in matrixed or multi-site organizations preferred.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong business acumen.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret procurement and financial data.Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound business judgment.Experience with procurement software, (ERP Enterprise Resource Planning) systems, or sourcing platforms preferred.Professional certifications such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management), CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager), CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional), or related certifications are a plus.Required to maintain an overall professional appearance and attitude.Adhere to all policies and procedures required.Physical Demands:Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work at a computer for extended periods of time.Manual dexterity required for operating office equipment including computers, phones, and printers.Physically able to talk on the phone and input data simultaneously.Ability to occasionally lift or move materials up to 25 lbs.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.Travel: Negligible.
