Schedule/Shift

This position follows a rotating shift schedule with evening, night, and weekend availability required, in addition to on-call/callback duties and floating based on unit needs.

Job Description

The Operating Room (OR) at our facility provides comprehensive care for a diverse range of patients across various surgical specialties, including orthopedics, general surgery, plastics, urology, cardiac, neuro, vascular, ophthalmic, GYN, ENT, thoracic, oral-maxillofacial, and trauma. Facilities include two Davinci surgical robots utilized for multiple services. Additionally, the OR supports a transplant program involving liver, kidney, and heart transplants.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in the operating room setting for various surgical procedures.
• Assist with scrubbing and circulating duties during surgeries.
• Monitor patient telemetry; experience in telemetry is highly desired.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure high-quality patient care and safety.
• Respond to emergency situations as required in a Level 1 trauma center.

Required Experience

• RN License (New York state only).
• Minimum of two (2) years of operating room experience in a Level 1 trauma center.
• Ability to scrub and circulate in the Operating Room.

Certifications/Licensure

• BLS Certification (American Heart Association only, required).
• ACLS Certification (preferred).
• Telemetry experience (highly desired).
