Communications Officer

DGS Office of External Affairs

Grambling State University's University Police Department seeks a full-time Communications Officer 1 to receive incoming emergency and non-emergency calls, monitor 911 systems and campus emergency phones, and dispatch officers as appropriate. The position requires complete independence in determining call priority and maintaining communication with supervisors about field situations. Work schedule is 6:00 AM–6:00 PM or 6:00 PM–6:00 AM, subject to change. Key qualifications Six months of experience transmitting and receiving messages by radio or in administrative services Six months of training in business or clerical-related curriculum at a business school or technical institute Fifteen semester hours of college training Terminal operator certification within six months of employment (NCIC and Louisiana State Police requirement) Must pass felony conviction/indictment screening per state and federal law #J-18808-Ljbffr
