Associate Metrologist

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc

Associate Metrologist supporting laboratory instrument maintenance, calibration, and qualification at a clinical research organization in Richmond, Virginia. The role involves performing routine and remedial maintenance, managing installation oversight, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards in a GMP laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

Perform scheduled routine and remedial maintenance on active laboratory instrumentation
Execute calibrations and qualifications including IQ, OQ, and PQ protocols
Provide installation oversight and technical support for new laboratory equipment
Address internal and external audit findings related to instruments and equipment
Evaluate lab records for SOP compliance, accuracy, and regulatory completeness

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent with relevant vocational/technical qualification
Minimum 2 years experience in laboratory instrumentation or related technical field
Understanding of FDA and GXP regulations and requirements
Working knowledge of laboratory instrumentation, equipment, and industry systems
Basic troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, clients, and staff
Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
