Utility specialist

The role of an Innovation/Utility Specialist involves performing dynamic combined aspects of pest control, exclusion services, minor construction, and thermal acoustical pest insulation installation within residential and commercial environments. Responsibilities Conduct inspections to identify pest activity and perform pest control services for residential and commercial clients. Install and maintain termite control systems. Install Thermal Acoustical Pest (TAP) insulation, ensuring quality service and customer satisfaction while managing job‑site preparations and clean‑up. Assist with light construction projects, including minor repairs and replacements related to pest damage. Communicate effectively with customers to explain services, ensure satisfaction, and provide guidance on pest control measures. Perform exclusion services and wildlife removal, setting up and building exclusion traps and ensuring safety protocols are followed. Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulations and participate in training to enhance skills. Work around animals, insects, termites, and in tight, confined spaces such as basements, attics, crawl spaces, and narrow aisles. Set up and build exclusion traps, fit flashing, and form hardware cloth to specifications. Remove animals trapped in exclusion devices. Operate in safety harnesses on rooftops and other elevated areas as needed. Complete production forms documenting services provided. Move up to 50lb. by lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling, and maintain balance on narrow or slippery surfaces. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including an OSHA‑compliant respirator and safely operate a motor vehicle. Qualifications High school diploma or GED; related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination. Valid driver’s license from the state of residence. Clean, shaven face for safety reasons (rebreathers require a seal). Available to work Monday‑Friday and Saturdays as needed. Solid reading, writing, and verbal communication skills, able to present information internally and externally. Basic math skills to follow product label instructions. All required licenses/certificates as mandated by federal, state, and local regulations (covered by the employer). Customer‑facing experience preferred.
