Position Opening Restaurant Manager – Happy Camper, Old Town, Chicago, IL Address: 1209 N Wells Street, Chicago, IL 60610 Job Summary The Front of House (FOH) manager will oversee daily restaurant operations and take on additional duties as assigned. Typical hours range from 9:00 am to 4:00 am, Monday through Sunday, with additional hours as needed. The ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial spirit, is a self-starter, and can contribute to the growth and success of the company. The role offers leadership responsibility in a fast-paced hospitality environment and opportunities for growth and development within a mission-driven organization. Responsibilities Assist in hiring and training staff Ensure guest satisfaction, resolve conflicts and handle complaints as they arise Cultivate positive company culture and grow regular clientele Communicate with HR and accounting regarding invoicing and payroll Double-check all orders that come in Maintain knowledge of the food menu and table numbers Process payments (cash or credit) Issue refunds and price adjustments Proficient in Toast POS and OpenTable Demonstrate strong communication and time management skills Focus on customer satisfaction Manage menus in-house and through delivery platforms (Doordash, UberEats, Grubhub) Oversee scheduling in HotSchedules; adjust schedules as needed Discipline and terminate employees in accordance with policy Perform daily health inspections and oversee food handling Conduct frequent quality control checks on food Ensure compliance with capacity and liquor regulations Manage liquor, beer, and wine inventory and coordinate with BOH for purchases Oversee swag inventory and communicate order needs with brand manager Perform daily checks of restaurant and equipment for health, safety, and hygiene standards Schedule routine maintenance and service on equipment; arrange repairs as needed Take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion Physical Functions Ability to communicate clearly with customers and staff in person and over the phone Regular use of the telephone for communication Ability to stand and be mobile for extended periods (up to 10 hours or as needed) Work in a high-noise environment with music and guest traffic Ability to tolerate allergens (peanuts, eggs, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, shellfish) Qualifications/Requirements Strong supervisory and leadership skills Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Excellent time management and organizational abilities Decision-making and problem-solving capabilities Receptive to feedback and constructive criticism Professional communication and active listening Ability to provide top-notch customer service in a fast-paced environment Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to safely lift and maneuver trays of food Willingness to follow instructions and ask questions when clarification is needed Certifications ServSafe Manager Certification Basset Certification Allergen Certification Compensation Details Compensation: $65,000 to $75,000 annual salary.
