Description:

The Lab Technician position performs all tasks involved in the testing and sampling of the company’s raw materials and products resulting in copper, silver and gold production. The position follows standard work methods and practices and safe work habits to ensure testing and sampling is as efficient and safe as possible.

Essential Functions

1. Maintain an efficient and effective testing and sampling station
2. Listen, understand and provide feedback to lab manager
3. Run heavy equipment as required (forklift)
4. Perform assay testing and sampling
5. Recommend efficiencies in lab operations
6. Maintain a safe work environment
7. Practice good housekeeping

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position involves sitting, walking and periodically lifting 10 pounds or more.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days may vary but are typically 7 on, 7 off, Thursday through Wednesday from 7:00 AM to 7 PM. Overtime may be required.

Travel
No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Previous production or lab experience.
