We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and service-driven Apartment Assistant Manager to support the daily operations of a Melville Apartments located in Lake Highlands in Dallas. This role plays a key part in driving financial performance through rent collections and delinquency management while also supporting leasing efforts, resident relations, and overall property operations.
The ideal candidate brings strong follow-through, confidence in financial conversations, and the ability to balance administrative precision with resident-facing service.
Key Responsibilities
Rent Collections & Financial Management
- Manage rent collections, delinquency tracking, and consistent follow-up communication with residents
- Serve required notices in accordance with company policy and local regulations
- Work proactively to reduce outstanding balances and establish payment arrangements
- Post rent payments, process deposits, and maintain accurate resident ledgers
- Assist with monthly financial reporting, variance explanations, and occupancy tracking
- Support invoice processing and vendor communication as needed
Leasing & Resident Relations
- Share leasing responsibilities including conducting tours, qualifying prospects, and closing leases
- Process applications, verify documentation, and ensure compliance with screening criteria
- Prepare and execute lease agreements and renewals
- Deliver exceptional customer service to residents and prospects
- Support resident retention efforts and community engagement initiatives
Operations & Administrative Support
- Partner with the Property Manager on daily operations and team coordination
- Maintain accurate resident files, reports, and compliance documentation
- Assist with move-in/move-out procedures and inspections
- Coordinate with maintenance to ensure timely completion of service requests
- Help maintain strong curb appeal and overall community standards
Qualifications
- 2+ years of multifamily property management experience preferred
- Strong experience in rent collections and delinquency management
- Proven leasing and closing ability
- Experience with property management software (Yardi experience is a plus)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
