Position Summary

The Lead AML Product Specialist, AI & Automation is responsible for improving AML workflows, systems and processes across the AML function.

The role will work closely with AML Operations, Investigations, Transaction Monitoring, KYC/KYB, Compliance, Data and Engineering teams to identify inefficiencies, improve processes and deliver scalable solutions. A key part of the mandate is to embed AI and automation into relevant workstreams, with measurable improvements in productivity, quality and effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and prioritise product and process improvement initiatives across AML operations.
• Review existing workflows and identify opportunities to simplify, automate or improve how work is performed.
• Drive end-to-end improvements across transaction monitoring, investigations, KYC/EDD, STR/SAR preparation, sanctions screening and case management.
• Work directly with AML teams to understand operational pain points and redesign workflows where appropriate.
• Translate AML and regulatory requirements into clear product requirements for Engineering, Data and AI teams.
• Develop practical solutions that reduce repetitive manual work and improve the quality and consistency of AML reviews.
• Embed AI-enabled tools into relevant AML workflows and ensure they are adopted in day-to-day operations.
• Ensure appropriate controls, human review, escalation and auditability are built into new processes.
• Track outcomes such as analyst productivity, turnaround time, false-positive reduction, investigation quality and control effectiveness.
• Be accountable for demonstrating meaningful application of AI and automation across the AML workstreams under the role’s remit.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in AML, financial crime, compliance technology, product management or a related field.
• Strong understanding of AML operations, including transaction monitoring, investigations, KYC/KYB/EDD and suspicious transaction reporting.
• Experience improving or implementing AML systems, workflows or operational processes.
• Experience working with AI, automation or data-driven solutions.
• Strong product management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to translate AML operational needs into practical technology solutions.
• Strong technology mindset and a track record of using new tools to improve how work is performed.
• Experience in crypto, payments, fintech or financial services is preferred.
