Job Description:

Maintains good relationships with physicians, management, other departments, and staff, and investigates and responds to complaints in a timely manner. Actively participates in Cardiothoracic Service Line Performance Improvement projects and completes at least one project annually to improve outcomes and quality for Cardiothoracic patients. Supports customer and employee satisfaction activities of the organization. Performs other duties as assigned. Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and keeps the circulating nurse informed of any needs throughout a procedure. Assists the team with safe and appropriate operating room turnover times in an efficient and organized manner. Directs ancillary personnel participating in room turnover and provides assistance and support as needed to members of the surgical team. Supervises other healthcare team members in the surgical environment and assists with orientation, training, and education of new personnel. Promotes a safe environment, takes appropriate action in emergency situations, and identifies and reports environmental concerns to management. Follows CDC isolation guidelines, uses PPE appropriately, performs hand washing according to policy, and monitors aseptic technique of the entire surgical team. Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department. Ensures all supplies, equipment, and medications are assembled prior to the procedure.

Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) - RQI Resuscitation Quality Improvement, State Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - EV Accredited Issuing Body, Technician in Surgery - Certified (NTSC) - EV Accredited Issuing Body

Pay Range:

$23.71 - $44.09
