Spartan Tool
Spartan Tool is seeking an experienced Buyer to support procurement activities for our sewer and drain cleaning equipment manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for sourcing materials, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring on-time, cost-effective delivery of components that meet quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Develop sourcing strategies and manage supplier relationships
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and long-term agreements
- Issue and manage purchase orders to ensure timely delivery
- Monitor supplier performance (cost, quality, delivery)
- Resolve supply and quality issues in collaboration with internal teams
- Support new product development and cost-reduction initiatives
- Maintain accurate data in ERP/MRP systems
- High School diploma, Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of procurement experience in manufacturing
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems
- Background in industrial equipment or durable goods manufacturing
- Knowledge of metals, machining, or electromechanical components

Since 1943, Spartan Tool has built tough, dependable sewer and drain cleaning equipment for professionals who rely on the equipment to make a living and get the job done. From our plant in Niles, Michigan, we design and assemble electro-mechanical machines, video inspection camera systems and high-pressure water jetters that are built to last, easy to use, and ready for the job-backed by real-world know-how, hands-on training and unmatched service.
