The Job
The San Bernardino County Department of Public Works is seeking a skilled and motivated Supervising Engineer to lead a team of professional engineers and technical staff. Opportunities Available in Multiple Divisions Transportation Design Division:
Manages in-house and consultant design teams for capital improvement projects. Duties include consultant oversight, project delivery, construction support, reviewing external agency projects, and preparing bids, contracts, and Board items. Also responsible for maintaining design standards, quality control, and staff training. Traffic Division: Function as responsible charge for engineer level design of signing/striping, signals, traffic control plans, and other transportation projects; act a as the lead for traffic investigations, providing guidance to technical staff as directed by the Supervising Engineer; perform plan checking, meetings/engagement with the public as it pertains to Traffic assignments, and general support of other Sections within Traffic.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet all components within one (1) of the following option requirements: Option 1: License: Must hold current status as a registered Professional Civil Engineer (PE) with the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs. Education : Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
Experience: Three (3) years of professional experience working as a civil engineer or engineer in a closely related field.
Option 2: License: Must hold current status as a registered Professional Civil Engineer (PE) with the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs. Education : Forty-five semester (68 quarter) units in civil engineering or a closely related field. Candidates must provide a list of completed coursework.
Experience: Four (4) years of professional experience working as a civil engineer or engineer in a closely related field.
Note: Qualifying degrees or coursework must be completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education Degree Equivalency Evaluation : Degrees or coursework completed outside the U.S. must be accompanied with an evaluation report from a reputable credential evaluation service showing equivalency to degrees or coursework completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education.
