Echovascular Sonographer I - (PRN)

Job Description Summary Performs echo vascular studies as required, including Echocardiograms, Cardio Doppler studies, Color Flow Mapping, TEE studies, Carotid Duplex studies, Arterial Extremity Testing, and Benous Extremity studies. Diligently prepares appropriate paperwork for echo vascular studies, learns department/hospital routines across various hospitals served, assists with Quality Assurance, maintains rapport with physicians and other hospital staff, and ensures care is delivered in accordance with medical orders and nursing standards and documented in clinical records and care plans. Responsibilities Perform echo vascular studies (echocardiograms, cardio Doppler, color flow mapping, TEE, carotid duplex, arterial extremity testing, Benous extremity studies) Prepare and complete required paperwork for each study Learn and adhere to department/hospital routines across multiple facilities Assist with ongoing quality assurance activities Maintain professional rapport with physicians and hospital staff Document patient care and clinical findings in records and care plans in accordance with medical orders and nursing standards Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Certification as a Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) (Vascular), or Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RCDS) (Echocardiography) Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Minimum Experience and Training Requirements High school graduate Graduate of an accredited formal program in Echo/Vascular Ultrasound or equivalent work experience Registered in at least one modality upon hire and in both modalities within three months of start date Minimum two years of vascular‑specific scanning experience (for Vascular Sonographer II positions) Active membership in a professional organization (e.g., SDMS or SVU) Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team Additional Information The Medical University of South Carolina is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
