Job Description Role Lead Software Engineer within the Payments Trust and Safety Technology group focused on Fraud Protection. You will design, build, and operate secure, scalable cloud-native services and tools to protect merchants from fraudulent behavior, drive performance and scalability efforts, and influence cross-functional stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, review, and maintain high-quality production code and microservices. Troubleshoot complex technical issues and think beyond conventional approaches to solve problems. Monitor and analyze product performance and scalability across hardware, software, and configurations. Serve as a performance advisor to integrate performance considerations into development practices. Plan and develop standard performance benchmarks and comparisons; design and implement automation tools for performance measurement and analysis. Influence leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams; proactively identify and mitigate risks to performance and stability. Required Qualifications Formal training or certification in Software Engineering and 5+ years of applied experience. Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability. Advanced development experience in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices. Experience with AWS services such as ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, EC2, Kafka, and NLB. Experience with databases and production operational practices. Experience working with AI agents/copilots for engineering. In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and associated IT systems. Preferred Qualifications Strong enterprise architecture design concepts for unified user experiences and data sharing via APIs and Kafka. Experience with case management workflow and orchestration spanning cross-functional teams.
