About Stafford Auto Tech

Stafford Auto Tech is seeking an Experienced Automotive Service Advisor in Stafford, Texas.

Serving the community since 2008, Stafford Auto Tech is an independent automotive repair shop working on domestic, Asian, and European vehicles. This small, family-oriented shop is looking to bring on its first dedicated Service Advisor as the business continues to grow.

The owner believes in honest recommendations, transparent communication, and helping customers prioritize repairs based on safety, vehicle needs, and budget. This is an opportunity for an experienced Service Writer to take ownership of customer communication and help strengthen the shop's daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers, listen to vehicle concerns, and complete accurate customer intake and repair order documentation.
• Prepare and present repair estimates, explain maintenance recommendations, and obtain customer authorization before proceeding with repairs.
• Manage approximately 8–15 vehicles daily, coordinating repair orders from initial write-up through completion.
• Use Tekmetric shop management software to organize repair orders, track service progress, and maintain accurate customer and vehicle information.
• Review and communicate Digital Vehicle Inspection (DVI) findings, helping customers understand recommended services and prioritize necessary repairs.
• Communicate with customers through phone calls, text messages, and emails, providing updates and following up on estimates and service recommendations.
• Recommend additional maintenance and repair services when appropriate, focusing on genuine vehicle needs rather than unnecessary sales.
• Collaborate with the shop owner and technicians to support efficient workflow, timely service, and a positive customer experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Automotive Service Advisor, Service Writer, or in a comparable automotive service role is required.
• Experience in an independent automotive repair shop or dealership service department is are both highly preferred. 
• Strong understanding of automotive maintenance, repair recommendations, service estimates, and repair order management.
• Ability to explain technical information, repair priorities, and pricing clearly and professionally to customers.
• Experience with Tekmetric is preferred, along with familiarity with Digital Vehicle Inspections (DVI).
• Knowledge of domestic, Asian, and European vehicles is preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple repair orders, communicate effectively with technicians, and provide honest, customer-focused service.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay: $45,000–$65,000 annual base salary.
• Pay Structure: Base salary plus commission-based incentives. Commission details will be discussed during the hiring process.
