Electrician Trainee – Commercial (ET Card Required)

RRE Inc. Electrical Contractor | Full-time | $25 – $30 per hour

TEAM RRE PURPOSE

To provide our clients with maximum value and the greatest communication possible as team players that do the right thing and are dedicated to winning.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Working under the direct supervision of a state-certified electrician, you will:

- Read basic plan information, including lighting, power, and rooftop power plans

- Lay out and install branch circuits

- Coordinate proper wire and conduit sizes

- Bend conduit into multiple layout configurations

- Install various types of lighting, including specialty lights

- Operate common power tools (saws, threaders, hydraulic benders, knockout punches)

- Properly label circuits, wires, breakers, and cover plates

- Complete daily time sheets and track materials and work orders

- Maintain accountability for tools, equipment, vehicles, and materials

WHAT YOU NEED (REQUIRED)

- Active California Electrician Trainee (ET) card

- Minimum of 2–3 years of electrical experience on commercial/industrial projects

- OSHA 10

- CPR certification

- Fall Protection training

- Ladder Safety training

- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)

- Reliable transportation to job sites up to 70 miles one-way

- Available for occasional weekend or holiday work when needed

- A positive, team-first attitude

NICE TO HAVE

- OSHA 30

- Forklift, scissor lift, or boom lift certification

- Experience with panels, feeders, or underground work

WORKING CONDITIONS

With or without reasonable accommodation, field team members:

- Work outdoors in all weather, including extreme heat and cold

- Work on ladders (up to 14 ft A-frame and 32 ft extension) for extended periods

- Work at heights using boom and scissor lifts

- Work in tight spaces such as attics, crawl spaces, and switchgear rooms

- Lift more than 50 lbs

- Wear required PPE (eye protection, hard hat, long sleeves, respirator when needed)

- Work up to 10 hours a day

SAFETY FIRST

Trainees do not work on energized circuits. RRE follows a strict standard for measuring voltage and accessing energized circuits.

PAY & BENEFITS

- $25 – $30 per hour, based on experience and skills

- Six paid federal holidays per year

- Paid sick leave, front-loaded each 12-month period

- Health insurance through Sentry (optional enrollment; coverage begins 60 days after hire, premiums shared with RRE)
