Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provides comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a Medical Surgical unit, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal health outcomes. Supervises nursing staff and collaborates with healthcare teams to deliver patient-centered care.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient health status and collect relevant clinical data.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings.
• Administer medications and treatments according to prescribed orders and standards.
• Educate patients and families on health management, procedures, and discharge instructions.
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to nursing staff, ensuring adherence to protocols and policies.

Qualifications:

• Possess a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Have at least two years of recent Acute Care or Medical Surgical nursing experience.
• Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• ACLS certification required; PALS preferred or must be obtained if applicable.
• Demonstrate excellent critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
