Senior Engineer, Automation

Senior Engineer, Automation at Edwards Lifesciences leads the design, development, and implementation of automated manufacturing solutions for medical devices. The role involves collaborating across R&D, manufacturing, and operations teams to drive innovation, ensure compliance, and enhance operational performance in cardiovascular device production.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, prototype, and implement automated solutions for new and existing manufacturing processes
• Lead automation projects from concept through prototyping, integration, qualification, validation, and production deployment
• Conduct data analysis and engineering troubleshooting to resolve complex equipment and process challenges
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations teams on automation deployment
• Investigate equipment failures and non-conformances; drive continuous improvement initiatives using metrics

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science with 4 years of automation engineering experience
• Onsite work required in Irvine, California with up to 10% domestic and international travel
• Proficiency in mechatronics, mechanical design, PLC/robotics programming, or electrical design
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills with proven track record
• Advanced degree preferred; FDA medical device regulations knowledge a plus
• Proficiency with statistical methods and MiniTab software preferred

Compensation: $108,000–$153,000 base
