Step into a meaningful contract opportunity as a school psychologist serving K–12 students in a supportive educational environment near Burnsville, NC. Starting as soon as possible and continuing through late May 2026, this role is designed for a compassionate and detail-oriented professional committed to facilitating student success. You’ll have a regular Monday–Friday schedule, working 37.5 hours each week, with a primary focus on specialized assessment and eligibility determination in the Exceptional Children (EC) program.
Key Requirements:
- Licensed School Psychologist in North Carolina
- Background working with students from kindergarten through 12th grade
- Strong skills in cognitive, adaptive, behavioral assessments, and special screenings for eligibility
- Excellent communication, organization, and report-writing abilities
- Collaborative spirit for partnering with educators, families, and support teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and reevaluations of students as part of the EC eligibility process
- Perform cognitive, adaptive, behavioral, and specialized screenings to inform placement and support decisions
- Prepare clear, thorough reports and participate in eligibility and IEP meetings
- Offer insights and recommendations to educational staff and families regarding student support
- Maintain accurate documentation, adhering to state and district guidelines
