Collections Specialist I

Mascoma Bank is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Collections Specialist I to join our team. In this role, your primary responsibility will be to manage tasks associated with delinquent accounts of the bank, while maintaining positive client relationships.

What You'll Do

1. Perform all aspects of general residential collection functions.
2. Communicate with customers to discuss delinquency status on accounts by telephone, email, mail or in person.
3. Handle customer questions and correspondence related to customer delinquency - by telephone, email, mail or in person.
4. Maintain collection files by:

• Documenting action taken/promised within our systems.
• Providing instruction for applying payments to past due loans.
• Reviewing accounting to ensure accuracy.
• Maintaining loan files with regard to delinquency.
• Handling routine issues and answering routine questions as related to the collections function.

What We're Looking For

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Excellent interpersonal communication
• Collections experience preferred
• Banking experience preferred
• Ability to use and possess a working knowledge of computers
• Able to maintain confidentiality and privacy
• Professional appearance; grooming and dress consistent with MB appearance policy

Location

This position is based at our White River Junction, VT Operations Center and may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule after training is complete.
