Job Description
Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Schedule

Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30).

Assignment Details

Requirements

• Current New York State Registered Nurse License
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIHSS certification (can be obtained prior to starting)
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, including at least 1 year of recent telemetry or step-down experience preferred
• Experience in managing IV cardiac medications and continuous infusions
• Familiarity with stroke care and management
• Epic charting experience
• Ability to read and identify cardiac rhythms, passing a proctored test with >80% accuracy in rhythm identification and 100% accuracy in critical rhythms
• Flu vaccine or exemption required

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to telemetry patients
• Monitor and assess patient vital signs and cardiac rhythms
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver optimal patient outcomes
• Document care accurately and timely in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families regarding care plans and medications
