Nursing Assistant - Day Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Day Shift - 3x12.0 hours

The Nursing Assistant, under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs routine tasks in patient care, bedside nursing, and documentation of care provided. This role embraces superior quality care and a commitment to treating others with respect while achieving team-oriented objectives focused on patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities:

• Promote patient and employee safety and follow safety policies and procedures.
• Perform patient care responsibilities including assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) and monitoring vital signs.
• Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in menu management systems.
• Prepare, assemble, deliver, and retrieve patient menus according to prescribed diets.
• Assist patients in making appropriate menu selections compliant with their dietary requirements.
• Update and validate diet changes in the patient menu system.
• Communicate effectively regarding patient care and food service issues.
• Perform clerical tasks in the Food & Nutrition office including managing office supplies.
• Assist other food service staff as needed.
• Attend in-services and departmental meetings.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (as required by state).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience.
