Ophthalmic Technician

Job Description Busy ophthalmology office with 2 locations, Palm Springs and Palm Desert seeks experienced ophthalmic technician. We use Compulink EHR and you must be familiar with entering data into a medical record system. We have one full time and 2 part time doctors and you would work at both offices. Daily tasks include taking vision, intraocular pressures, auto-refractions, OCT, Visual fields, A scans, and topography so familiarity with these skills is essential. We are looking for a friendly person who wants to be part of a team and enjoys helping others. We have a diverse clientele, but all of our patients want someone who is caring and present. We need someone who likes a fast-paced environment. Spanish speaking a plus. Some of the benefits include paid major holidays, a health insurance allowance after 90 days and PTO. Ophthalmic Technician Duties and Responsibilities Take medical histories and verify information Perform visual function and diagnostic tests, such as applanation tonometry, refraction, and retinoscopy Utilize tools such as a Humphrey field analyzer and OCT to take eye measurements Inform ophthalmologist about changes to a patient's visual acuity and other vision issues Dilate eyes to prepare patients for their eye exam Explain how to properly use eye drops or other medications Explain how to properly use contact lenses Assist with inventory management Ophthalmic Technician Requirements and Qualifications High school diploma or GED certificate Completion of an ophthalmic assistant or technician program strongly preferred (COA or COT) Experience with eye measurement tools and testing techniques Experience with EMR tools a plus Bilingual communication skills a plus Computer literacy #J-18808-Ljbffr Desert Ophthalmology
