Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations through virtual consultations to assess clients’ emotional, behavioral, and psychological needs.

• Develop tailored treatment plans for individuals, couples, families, or groups, based on assessments and therapeutic goals.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques that resonate with clients’ needs.

• Continuously monitor and document client progress throughout treatment, ensuring adjustments to plans are made as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.

• Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, social workers, and healthcare professionals, to create holistic intervention strategies.

• Provide follow-up care for clients transitioning from inpatient to outpatient services, supporting them in their recovery journey.

• Assist families and caregivers with strategies to handle challenging mental health situations, fostering a supportive environment for clients.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Possession of current, valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York State.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE) is necessary.

• Previous experience in a mental health counseling role with a strong understanding of therapeutic methodologies and client engagement.

• Demonstrated proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, in a clinical setting.
\n
• Thorough knowledge of the psychological aspects of physical health conditions and substance use disorders.
\n
• Familiarity with best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, combined with a genuine empathy for clients’ challenges.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous telehealth counseling experience is a plus, as it involves unique challenges and considerations compared to traditional in-person counseling.

• Experience working with vulnerable populations, including youth, families, and individuals facing socioeconomic stressors.

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
