Senior Staff AccountantLocation: Westbury, NY Work Arrangement: Onsite Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Pay Rate: $55/hour Employment Type: Temp-to-HireWe are seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to support accounting operations for the EIG business in Westbury, NY. This role will be responsible for month-end close activities, account analysis, journal entries, and reconciliations. The Senior Staff Accountant will also provide backup support for the Accounting Manager and Cost Accountant while collaborating with accounting and finance teams to maintain accurate financial reporting and effective internal controls.Perform account analysis and support accounting activities for the EIG business.Assist with the month-end close process, including preparing and posting journal entries for accruals, depreciation, amortization, and deferred revenue recognition.Prepare and maintain monthly account reconciliations for assigned accounts.Review and analyze financial transactions to identify discrepancies, resolve errors, and implement process improvements.Provide backup support for the Accounting Manager and Cost Accountant as needed.Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to develop and improve accounting and financial reporting processes.Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) internal control requirements.Communicate financial information clearly and effectively to internal stakeholders.Identify opportunities to strengthen accounting procedures, reporting accuracy, and internal controls.Bachelor's degree in Accounting.Strong knowledge of GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance requirements.Experience working with ERP systems, including NetSuite.Experience with month-end close activities, journal entries, and account reconciliations.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.General Ledger AccountingMonth-End CloseJournal Entries and AccrualsAccount ReconciliationsFinancial Analysis and ReportingDepreciation and AmortizationDeferred Revenue RecognitionGAAP and SOX ComplianceNetSuite and ERP SystemsInternal Controls and Process ImprovementBenefits: Health insurance Health savings account Dental insurance Vision insurance Flexible spending accounts Life insurance Retirement plan All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
