Job Description:
We are seeking a Traveling Field Service Technicians to support electrical field service, installation, commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance activities.

This position will work closely with customers, contractors, technical project management, and manufacturing teams to ensure electrical power distribution equipment is properly installed, tested, commissioned, and supported in the field.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with LV/MV/HV electrical power distribution systems and be comfortable working in customer-facing field environments with significant travel.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and modify electrical and mechanical components and subassemblies.
• Install, service, and troubleshoot electrical power distribution equipment, including:
  • Switchgear
  • Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS)
  • Power Distribution Units (PDUs)
  • UPS systems
  • Generators
  • Transformers
  • Circuit breakers
  • Panelboards and control components
• Perform startup, testing, and basic commissioning of electrical assemblies, switchboards, control panels, and power products.
• Perform preventive maintenance and field modifications on electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits, control systems, and associated networking equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with contractors and customers to support field activities and project requirements.
• Attend project meetings and provide technical support throughout installation and post-installation activities.
• Work with technical project management and manufacturing teams to troubleshoot product and commissioning issues.
• Identify required field resources, tools, materials, and replacement parts.
• Maintain accurate service documentation, reports, and customer records.
• Follow all applicable safety procedures and company policies.
• Work overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to support project schedules.
  

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing, data center, or field service environment involving commissioning and startup of LV/MV/HV electrical power distribution systems .
• Hands-on experience with multiple types of electrical power equipment, such as:
  • Switchgear
  • ATS
  • PDUs
  • UPS
  • Generators
  • Transformers
  • Breakers
• Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams and schematics .
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Coachable, adaptable, and willing to learn new products and systems.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% along the East Coast .
• Willingness to work overtime, evenings, and weekends when required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Military background or military electrical/electronics experience.
• Previous data center experience.
• Experience working with mission-critical electrical infrastructure.
• Experience with electrical commissioning, startup, and field service.
