WCS Healthcare Partners is seeking a skilled professional to perform a variety of technical activities associated with screening and diagnostic mammography procedures. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to provide compassionate care to patients while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to all regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks involving the operation of mammographic and other relevant equipment.
• Position patients and use immobilization techniques when necessary.
• Select proper exposure factors and evaluate images for diagnostic quality, obtaining additional images as needed.
• Prepare and set up medical supplies using aseptic techniques when appropriate, and explain procedures to patients.
• Print films or burn CDs, matching them with appropriate paperwork for interpretation.
• Provide orientation and training to new and student mammographers.
• Produce high-quality diagnostic images while providing excellent patient care.
• Treat patients and accompanying persons with courtesy, professionalism, and respect.
• Monitor patients' well-being during exams and respond to any discomfort or medical issues.
• Use ALARA principles to minimize patient radiation doses, document any over-exposure, and inform management immediately.
• Check patient history and obtain necessary waivers.
• Consult with radiologists to determine appropriate exams when needed.
• Complete paperwork and exam reports associated with technical procedures.
• Assist radiologists with procedures like stereotactic breast biopsies.
• Maintain cleanliness and stock of exam rooms and dressing booths.
• Communicate schedule changes or delays to appropriate personnel.
• Guide patients through the process with empathy and support, answering questions and addressing concerns.
• Participate in projects and complete tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Current ARRT(R) certification and state licenses in Diagnostic and Mammographic Radiologic Technology.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Maintain licenses and continuing education per state, federal, and regulatory guidelines.
• Professional and courteous interaction with diverse populations.
• Familiarity with specialized equipment and ability to respond calmly to emergencies.
• Strong customer service, written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to interact effectively with medical staff and patients.
• 40 initial hours of training or attestation required if registered on or after 10/1/94.
