Step into a meaningful role as a contract Occupational Therapist providing vital support for students with severe disabilities. This full-time opportunity (37.5 hours/week, excluding lunch) runs through June 2027 in a supportive educational setting near Smyrna, DE. Engage with a diverse caseload of 35-40 students across various grade levels, utilizing your expertise to foster growth, independence, and progress.

Key Qualifications & Required Experience:

  • Active, current Occupational Therapist (OT) license (no COTAs)
  • Previous experience in school-based settings, ideally providing services to students with severe disabilities
  • Proven ability to serve students with autism and behavioral challenges
  • Skilled in monitoring progress, completing thorough documentation, and writing IEPs and evaluation summaries
  • Reliable transportation and a commitment to maintaining excellent attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to pass all required drug screening and comprehensive background checks
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group occupational therapy sessions to students, addressing a range of physical, sensory, and behavioral needs
  • Collect and analyze data to determine and document student progress
  • Maintain timely and precise therapy notes, perform regular progress monitoring, and write and review IEPs
  • Conduct evaluations and summaries, including reviewing IEPs drafted by COTAs, as needed
  • Participate in meetings and collaborate with faculty, staff, and families
  • Model professionalism and reliability, with clear communication regarding absences or scheduling conflicts
