Job Description

Make an immediate impact as a Licensed Occupational Therapist supporting students with severe disabilities in a dynamic school setting near Dover, DE. This contract position offers a full-time schedule through June 2027, ideal for professionals dedicated to meaningful, hands-on therapy in education environments. You’ll collaborate closely with faculty, monitor student progress, write IEPs, and contribute to an inclusive atmosphere for children across various grade levels.

Your skills and dedication will help shape daily experiences and long-term outcomes for students facing unique challenges. The successful applicant thrives working with those on the autism spectrum and students exhibiting behavioral needs, and brings sharp documentation abilities, flexibility, and a strong sense of professionalism.

Qualifications and Experience

Active OT license (required at application; COTAs not eligible)
At least 1 year working as an OT in school settings with diverse or severe disability caseloads
Demonstrated experience writing and reviewing IEPs, conducting evaluations, and documenting therapy
Prior work with autism and behavioral challenges strongly preferred
Ability to reliably commute to site; punctual attendance and proactive communication skills essential
Must pass a drug screen and background check/fingerprinting

Key Responsibilities

Provide individualized and group therapy for students with severe disabilities
Collect and analyze progress data; complete routine progress monitoring
Prepare therapy notes, evaluation summaries, and IEP reports
Collaborate with educational teams and review COTA documentation when appropriate
Maintain excellent professional conduct: report absences promptly, manage time effectively
