About the Role
D&D Manufacturing is seeking an experienced CNC Setup Machinist to join our precision machining team in Ipswich, Massachusetts . This is a hands-on CNC machining role focused on setup and operation of CNC mills and lathes in a high-mix, job shop environment.
If you enjoy working independently, solving machining challenges, and producing high-quality parts from print to finish, this role offers long-term stability, modern equipment, and consistent overtime opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC milling and turning machines using Haas, Mazak, and Fanuc controls
- Select and install proper tooling, fixtures, and workholding for each job
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, hand sketches, and verbal instructions
- Machine precision components from steel, stainless steel, tool steels, aluminum, plastics, and exotic alloys
- Perform in-process and final inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gages, and CMMs
- Maintain quality, efficiency, and repeatability in a fast-paced job shop environment
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of CNC milling experience in a job shop environment
- Strong understanding of CNC setup for both mills and lathes
- Ability to read and apply blueprints and GD&T
- Working knowledge of Haas, Mazak, and Fanuc CNC controls
- Experience using common inspection and measurement equipment
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
