Construction Superintendent

Travel: 25–75% depending on project location Compensation: $90,000-$125,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications Company Overview CSD Environmental Services, Inc. , established in 1992 , is a respected heavy highway and environmental construction contractor specializing in transportation infrastructure projects for the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) and the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT). We are seeking a dedicated Construction Superintendent to join our team and lead field operations on complex roadway and civil construction projects. Position Summary The Construction Superintendent oversees the daily management, coordination, and supervision of construction activities on assigned projects. This role ensures that work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with project specifications and agency standards. It is essential that the superintendent maintains a strong, hands-on presence in daily field operations , leading crews directly and ensuring smooth execution of all site activities. Key Responsibilities Oversee and direct all field operations for heavy highway construction projects Maintain a strong, hands-on presence in daily jobsite activities Coordinate daily activities with project managers, subcontractors, inspectors, and suppliers Ensure compliance with MoDOT/IDOT specifications, project plans, and safety standards Enforce strict safety protocols and promote a positive safety culture Manage project schedules and adjust field operations to meet production goals Track and report manpower, equipment, and material needs Build and maintain strong working relationships with inspectors, clients, and team members Provide clear leadership, mentorship, and guidance to field personnel Communicate effectively with both field and office staff to ensure project alignment Qualifications CDL preferred but not required Minimum 5 years of heavy highway construction experience 2–3 years in a supervisory or foreman role Strong understanding of MoDOT/IDOT requirements and heavy civil construction practices Excellent communication skills are a must Must be proficient with computers, including project documentation and basic software tools Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills Ability to travel 25–75% based on project needs Valid driver’s license and clean driving record What We Offer Retirement plan options Company vehicle or vehicle allowance (position dependent) Opportunities for advancement within a long-established company #J-18808-Ljbffr
