Location: Richardson, TX
Pay: $21.00–$25.00 per hour, based on experience

Position Overview

M&M Strategic Staffing Solutions is recruiting experienced Revenue Cycle Specialists – Denials & Dispute Management for an established healthcare revenue cycle organization in Richardson, TX.

We are seeking professionals with strong backgrounds in medical accounts receivable, insurance denials, appeals, and payer dispute resolution , particularly involving Medicare Advantage and commercial insurance plans.

This position focuses on researching denied medical claims, preparing and submitting appeals, managing payer disputes, and identifying appropriate resolution strategies to maximize reimbursement.

Candidates must have hands-on medical insurance denials and appeals experience. General collections or customer service experience alone will not qualify.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and resolve denied medical claims and insurance payer disputes.
• Manage first- and second-level appeals for Medicare Advantage and commercial insurance plans.
• Review denial reasons, payer policies, and supporting documentation to determine appropriate appeal strategies.
• Prepare and submit appeal letters using established templates and procedures.
• Coordinate External Review (IRO) submissions and regulatory complaints when applicable.
• Follow up with insurance carriers and external review organizations regarding appeal status and outstanding disputes.
• Monitor appeal deadlines and ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation of claims, appeals, payer communications, and resolution outcomes.
• Identify recurring denial trends and report findings to management.
• Collaborate with billing, coding, and clinical teams to obtain documentation and resolve complex claims.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in medical billing, healthcare collections, or accounts receivable follow-up, including hands-on insurance denials and appeals experience.
• Experience researching denied medical claims and preparing or processing insurance appeals.
• Familiarity with Medicare Advantage and commercial insurance plans.
• Knowledge of CPT/HCPCS, ICD-10, modifiers, and UB revenue codes.
• Familiarity with prior authorization requirements and insurance payer policies.
• Proficiency with medical billing systems and Google Workspace.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare revenue cycle processes.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field OR 4+ years of directly related experience.
• Ability to work full-time, on-site in Richardson, TX.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Medicare Advantage appeals, reconsiderations, and escalations.
• Hands-on experience preparing or submitting External Review (IRO) requests.
• Familiarity with IRE/Maximus, CMS complaint processes, and Department of Insurance complaints.
• Understanding of ERISA and state-regulated insurance plans.
• Experience in laboratory, molecular diagnostics, or specialty medical billing.
