Job Description

This role supports construction activities at a commercial job site by performing general labor, construction cleaning, and assisting carpenters. The position focuses on maintaining a clean, safe work area and providing hands-on support to the construction team throughout the project.

Responsibilities

• Perform general construction labor tasks to support daily site operations.
• Assist carpenters with basic tasks such as handling materials, tools, and equipment.
• Carry, load, and unload construction materials and supplies as directed.
• Complete construction cleaning tasks, including debris removal, sweeping, and maintaining a tidy work area.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and skilled tradespeople to support ongoing construction activities.
• Adhere to all site safety rules and procedures while working on the commercial construction project.
• Help prepare work areas for different phases of construction as needed.

Essential Skills

• Experience performing general labor tasks in a construction environment.
• Ability to assist carpenters as a helper on commercial construction projects.
• Capability to carry out construction cleaning duties efficiently and safely.
• Basic understanding of construction site safety practices.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment throughout the workday.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in commercial construction environments.
• Familiarity with carpentry tasks and tools in a support capacity.
• Strong work ethic and reliability in completing assigned tasks.

Work Environment

The role is based at a commercial data center construction site in Manassas, VA. Work takes place on an active construction site, which involves standing, walking, lifting, and working around construction equipment and materials. The position runs for a defined project period, from June 1st to August 1st. You will work as part of a field crew in a dynamic environment that requires attention to safety and readiness to adapt to changing site conditions. Appropriate workwear suitable for a construction site and any required personal protective equipment will be necessary.

This is a Contract position based out of Manassas, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
