Specialist, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Company: SHRM Location: Alexandria, VA Compensation: $70,000 to $85,000 per year Position Summary The Specialist, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) supports the organization’s budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and financial analysis processes through partnership with business units and the finance team. Work Environment Hybrid schedule: 3 days in office (Tuesday‑Thursday), 2 days remote (Monday and Friday). Responsibilities Analyze spending trends, identify risks and opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations to management. Prepare monthly variance analyses and support management in interpreting results. Generate financial reports, presentations, and analysis for leadership meetings. Support the annual budgeting process and monthly forecasting updates. Assist with monthly close activities including accruals, reclassifications, and financial reporting coordination with accounting. Partner with department leaders to develop and refine financial insights and recommendations. Qualifications Three (3) or more years’ experience in FP&A, finance, accounting, or a related analytical role. Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and variance analysis. Excellent analytical aptitude with proven ability to analyze and interpret financial statements. Strong multi‑tasking ability and capacity to meet tight deadlines. Proven expertise in Workday Adaptive Planning for budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling. Knowledge and ability to leverage AI tools to support financial analysis (if applicable). Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field preferred; relevant experience in lieu of degree acceptable.
